**********Contains Spoilers**********I really enjoyed this book. I loved the connection between Spencer, Hugh and Raphael. Wow, this book was exciting you finally find out what happened to King Ari and Prince Ezra’s fourth egg and that it didn’t actually die and it was a plan for the King’s advisor Gabriel to overthrow the Royal Family’s reign. Spencer is called by his aunt Marissa whose acting weird and asking for him to do a whole cloak and d*gger situation, turn off his phone, don’t tell anyone where he’s going but to meet her in the mainland and gives him an address of some seedy hotel. When Spencer arrives his aunt comes clean about everything and that Gabriel lied to her and since Spencer’s mother had hatched and lost so many eggs and while she was nesting her final egg her husband walked out on her and she didn’t bother chasing after him, she didn’t see the harm and switched the eggs so Spencer was his mothers and told the King and Prince that the fourth egg hadn’t made it, before that the egg had to be removed from the nest as the three other princes eggs were slowly deteriorating. Spencer is shocked to say the least but always felt part of the Royal Family and now knows that he needs to hide or find a mate as he could be the reason his family looses everything.Prince Raphael has basically been grounded by his father King Tobias after Raphael foiled his plans after he didn’t mate with Prince Aidan of Monipan since Aidan and met and fell in love with Shaw. Raphael was a pawn in his father and Gabriel the King of Montipan’s ex-advisor’s plan. Raphael heard that his father was having a meeting and that it was with Gabriel in his private quarters, since Gabriel had been banished from Montipan Raphael thought this was weird and since he knew all the secret passages he went to spy on their meeting and overheard a lot of things including that his eldest brother wasn’t his dad’s biological child even though he’s been his father’s heir apparent and that wasn’t even the worst of it he heard Gabriel tell his father that they still have a chance to overthrow the Montipan Royal Family as King Ari and Prince Ezra fourth egg didn’t d*e and that no one knows so if he goes into heat without being mated as per the Law of Old they could lose everything. Raphael puts it together from all his research that the fourth prince is Spencer the other princes best friend/found brother and Raphael knows that he has to do something so he makes up a lie and asks his father if he can go to the town library to do some research and uses the public phone there to ring Prince Aidan to ask to speak to Spencer, Aidan tells him that he’s not there so Raphael asks for his cellphone number of course Aidan is apprehensive but he can hear it in Raphael’s voice that something is up so he agrees that he’ll keep trying to call him but he’s on the mainland.Hugh was trying to find a mysterious secret party but isn’t having much luck. Spencer leaves his aunt and as he’s walking he literally runs into Hugh who feels a need to help and protect Spencer as he can feel his fear so they go get some food and as they’re walking they meet up with Prince Raphael whose trying to explain why he’s there but Spencer doesn’t want to listen and Hugh is being protective of Spencer but something finally clicks and they realise they all have an instant connection and both Spencer and Raphael’s dragons are saying ours. I loved how well Hugh took it when they both explained that they’re both dragons and Royal from two Island nations and the situation they currently find themselves in. This story is an emotional rollercoaster and man you can feel Raphael’s pain of what his father has done and what he has to tell his brother and that he never wanted to rule but since his brother isn’t a legitimate heir he’s it. I’m sad that this is the final book to a great series but I thought it’s a fitting end. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to everyone.
